Online-Exams respects your privacy and is committed to protecting all personal information you share with us. The following policy details how exactly we treat that information.
Exchanging Personal Information
Online-Exams.com does not share, and has never shared, personally-identifiable information about its customers with other companies, individuals, organizations or other entities, except when we congratulate specific users on outstanding exam scores by publishing their names and the score in question on our home page (users can opt out of this service). The only information Online-Exams.com reveals about its customers deals with our customer base as a whole. For example, on our homepage we reveal the number of users of our service. The fore-mentioned information can in no way identify individual users.
Online-Exams.com further promises never to exchange personally-identifiable customer information with any company, individual, organization or any other entity without the said customer's consent, except to approve & process credit card transactions (see below).
Online-Exams.com may release account information when it is believed, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with the laws of Canada, Ontario or those of the user's country of residence or home country.
- Enforce or apply the terms of any of our user agreements.
- Protect the rights, property and / or safety of Online-Exams.com, our users or our partners.
Information Collected
Online-Exams.com collects information from users in order to bill them for exams they purchase and to allow them to write these exams and record the results with us. Online-Exams.com only collects personal information that is necessary to perform these functions. This information includes, but is not limited to:
- First name
- Last name
- E-mail address(es)
- Credit card number, type & expiration date
- I.P. Address (a number your internet service provider uses to identify your computer when you log on).
Securing Customer Information
Personal information is sent between our server and the customer's computer using a high-level industry-standard security protocol called SSL (Secure Socket Layer). Credit card information is verified using the services of Caledon Card Services, a long-standing, reputable & trusted credit card information processing company. This information is also exchanged using SSL, and handled on the Caledon end using triple-DES private key encryption.
In order to prevent unlawful access to customers' personal information, such as through a web-based attack, Online-Exams.com's servers lie behind a firewall and use advanced file security systems to eliminate this threat as much as possible. Our servers are physically secured and monitored regularly by staff. Access to customers' personal information is limited to three senior staff members who may need such access to conduct business with the said customer(s) and / or maintain the servers.
Cookies
Online-Exams.com may place a standard technology called a "cookie" on your computer's hard drive. This cookie is a small text file which does not identify you personally, but identifies your computer and your Online-Exams.com account number. This cookie is necessary to allow Online-Exams.com to process payment of exams purchased.
A cookie cannot read any information from your hard drive and can only exchange the fore-mentioned information with us. After your session with Online-Exams.com is over you may delete the cookie from your hard drive using your browser, if you wish. Be aware that if you do so, you will need to log in again when you return to purchase or write an exam.
