Online-Exams.com is proud to call itself Canadian, starting out in Ottawa in 1996 before moving to Toronto in 1999, where it's currently based. Owner Chris MacNeil, 31, began the company in his parent's basement after graduating from University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1995. Quickly outgrowing these cramped confines, the operation moved to a small office on Sparks St. in downtown Ottawa in 1996, just a stone's throw from the Houses of Parliament. Caracas, Venezuela-native Ramses Moya came on board as a partner in 1997 and spent two years helping grow the company before accepting a position with Sun Microsystems in 1999.
As the company continued to grow, MacNeil felt the pull of Toronto's large customer base, its impressive I.T. talent pool and expanded access to venture capital. In 1999 he moved the operation to a heritage building in Toronto's Cabbagetown district, where it's based today.
In 2002, after six successful years, Online-Exams.com partnered with webness.biz, a Toronto web design and communications firm, to rebrand, redesign & relaunch the site.
